The Alpha Sigma Chapter at Washington & Lee University.
The Alpha Sigma Chapter was founded at Washington & Lee in 1894. The chapter began as illegitimate, but it was legitimized by the United National in 1912. It began life as the Omicron chapter when it was illegitimate, and strangely, either deliberately or accidently, it is listed as the Rho Chapter in 1899 in The Calyx. Whether that reflected a change of allegiance or not is uncertain. The Chapter was last known ca. 1912. Important research contributions to this article were made by John B. Kendrick.
