The Theta Nu Epsilon Society.

The Mu Chapters at the Stevens Institute of Technology.

There were two chapters at the Stevens Institute.

The Mu Chapter at the Stevens Institute of Technology was founded on August 31, 1883. Since it was chartered by Alpha Chapter, it was a legitimate chapter. The Mu Chapter was an especially strong one, which usually operated in close cooperation with the chapters at Rutgers, N.Y.U., and other chapters in the metropolitan area. The chapter was a traditional one and therefore was driven from the society in the 1913-16 Interfraternity Conflict, when it became became independent. The Chapter continued on its own until 1920.

The second Mu Chapter was founded on May 16, 1925. It is taken to be a legitimate chapter, having been chartered by the Madden National. This second Mu Chapter is not the same as the previous one since it was not a traditional chapter but a four-year fraternity. The chapter was formed from a petitioning organization, Chi Sigma Delta. The second Mu lasted about ten years and was last known, ca. 1935.
