The Alpha Mu Chapter at Southwestern was founded on April 7, 1929 as a four-year fraternity. The Chapter was a legitimate chapter, since it was chartered by Powell National. The Chapter was originally a local society, Tau Delta Gamma. The records show that the installation of the chapter was aided by the Xi Xi Chapter at the University of Louisville. The chapter simply succumbed to the Great Depression, and was known to exist about 1936.
