The Duke Chapter in 1918.

The Alpha Gamma Chapter at Duke University was a legitimate chapter, since it was chartered by Smull National. However, there may have been an earlier illicit chapter under the designation of Theta Rho. For some reason, the Alpha Gamma Chapter was purged in 1915, and reorganized itself as ‘13’. Nevertheless, it was restored as a chapter, only to be purged again in 1924 where it joined forces with the N. P. of T. N. E. chapters, against the four-year fraternity chapters. It continued again on its own until about 1930.
