The Iota & Epsilon Epsilon Chapters at Case - Western Reserve University.
There were two chapters at Case - Western Reserve University, one at the original Adelbert College, another at the Western Reserve Medical College. The Iota Chapter at Case - Western reserve was founded in 1881 at Adelbert College. It was a legitimate chapter having been chartered directly by the Alpha Chapter. It was a very active and stong chapter being the focal point for the Cleveland-area chapters. For some unknown reason it lapsed briefly around 1910 and was restored in 1912 by Brother Parks at Western Reserve Medical College. Being a traditional chapter, it was driven from the society in the 1912 - 1916 Interfraternity Conflict. The last records of the chapter date to 1921. The Epsilon Epsilon Chapter at the Case School of Applied Science was first known in 1896, but probably was active as early as 1895. It may have been originally chartered by the Pi-Omicron National, but became a legitimate chapter through the auspices of the Alpha Chapter in 1896. The chapter had something of a turbulent history. It ceased to participate in the national in 1906, and may have ceased altogether in 1909, only to be restored in 1911. As a traditional chapter, it was driven out of the society in the 1913-16 Interfraternity Conflict. Last records for the chapter date to 1919.
